Today is Day 12 of the Standard Process Purification, and I’ve completed half of the program.  So, how am I feeling, and what results have I seen?

Overall, it’s not as difficult as I was afraid it would be.  It took a couple days to get used to the taste of the shakes, but now they’re fine; not great, but fine.  Eating so many vegetables is okay, but my problems are variety, and eating enough to fill me up.  I’ve tried to branch out with some veggies that I don’t often eat, like the spaghetti squash and eggplant, but even scaling recipes back, I have leftovers and have to eat the same thing more than once (I’m not a big fan of leftovers).  I’m also starting to get tired of green salads, so I’m going to have to figure out a way to make them more interesting that doesn’t involve nuts, cheese, or croutons.

I don’t miss meat, but on the other hand some bread or crackers would sure be nice!  And while I’m not craving anything per se, I really miss desserts like cookies and brownies, and my afternoon iced coffee with whipped cream.

Light exercise is part of the program, but I wasn’t doing that before, and haven’t been doing it now.  The MS makes it more difficult for me, as my balance and leg strength are not good.  I’m sure the fact that I haven’t exercised since ninth grade P.E. class doesn’t help either!  However, I did make an effort this morning and did some easy yoga.

You’re also supposed to drink 64 oz of water a day, and I’ve maybe had that much in a week!  When I do drink something, it’s water, but I just do not drink much at all, ever.

As for results, I haven’t really lost any weight, but that was not my goal.  I’m 5 ft and 101 lbs and don’t really need to lose any (although I would be okay with getting rid of 3-5 lbs).  I didn’t have any headaches or anything like that, which can apparently happen sometimes when you detox.  Honestly, I don’t feel any different at all so far.  There were some positive effects on my–shall we say–digestion, but that was more pronounced when I was taking the Cleanse capsules and not so much now that I’m on the Green Food.

So, onward and upward to the second half!
